Memorandum to Players


FORMAT
This qualifier's format is 36 holes of stroke play (no cut).


TIES AND PLAYOFF
If there is a tie for the last qualifying spot or either of the alternate positions, there will be a sudden-death playoff immediately following the conclusion of play. It is the players' responsibility to keep informed as to the time and status of any playoff.

 

COURSE YARDAGE

The course will be setup from the black tees at 6,915 yards and a par of 72

 

REGISTRATION

Players are requested to register upon arrival at the golf course on July 9th by the practice putting green. Players must report to the first tee ten minutes prior to their starting time, where they will receive important instructions and notices.

 

SPOT ALLOCATION

There are 3 qualifying spots and 2 alternate positions available at this qualifier.

 

PRACTICE ROUNDS

The club has tee times available for practice rounds on Saturday, July 7th and Sunday, July 8th. Tee times are required and may be scheduled by contacting the Seven Oaks pro shop at (315) 824-1432.

 

The practice round fee for players $25 to walk and a cart fee (permitted for practice rounds only) is $20. Caddies or guests that wish to play with a player must pay the full rate of $105. Caddies or guests who wish to ride with players during practice rounds will be charged the $20 cart fee.

 

DRIVING RANGE

Is provided free of charge to all players and will be open starting at 6:00am.

 

Note: The driving range is located a half mile north of the Seven Oaks clubhouse on East Lake Road and is only accessible by car.

 

PLAYER LUNCH
The NYSGA will provide a complimentary lunch for all players in this field.

 

FOOD SERVICE
Food and beverage will be available in the clubhouse beginning at11:00am (cash and credit). The halfway house will also be open on a cash basis beginning at 9:30am.  Complimentary water and energy bars/bananas will be available on the golf course.

 

HOTEL ACCOMODATIONS

Listed below are local hotel options available to players:

 

CADDIES
A player may provide his own caddie. The club does not have any caddies available. A player is not required to employ a caddie for any stage of the Championship.

 

TRANSPORTATION/CART REQUESTS

Players must not ride on any form of transportation during a stipulated round unless authorized by the Committee. The optional condition prescribed in Appendix I of The Rules of Golf will be in effect.

 

If a player or caddie would like to request the use of a cart, they must complete the paperwork on the USGA website.

 

RAIN DATE

If required, the rain date will be July 10, 2018.

 

LOCAL RULES AND CONDITIONS

  • Distance Measuring Devices: A player may obtain distance information by use of a distance-measuring device. For more information, visit www.usga.org/dmd
  • "One Ball" Condition: The “One Ball" Condition will be in effect. This condition requires players to use the same brand and type of golf ball throughout the stipulated round. Please refer to (click here) Appendix 1; Part B - Conditions of the Competition; 1-b (Specification of the Ball).
  • Notice to Competitors: Players will receive the Notice to Players and Hole Location sheet on the first tee prior to their tee time.

 

“GROOVE AND PUNCH MARK SPECIFICATION” CONDITION
Clubs: Grooves – The player’s clubs must conform to the groove and punch mark specifications in the Rules of Golf that are effective from January 1, 2010 – See Decision 4-1/1 and championship entry for details.

 

WITHDRAWAL FROM QUALIFYING

Players who must from Qualifying must notify the USGA (908-326-1950 or via e-mail at champs@usga.org). If you must withdraw on the morning of the qualifier, please call or text the official-in-charge noted below.
